SJI welcomes Dr. Yang Gyeltshen into the young and enthusiastic team. He is entrusted with the important responsibility of leading the development of Lhomon Education (LME), an alternate education model that is inspired by GNH and which bears great national significance. SJI is fortunate to have an accomplished and a dedicated Bhutanese professional.
Dr. Yang has over two decades of rich teaching experience with a Certificate in Design from the College of Fine Art and Crafts, Shantiniketan, West Bengal, India, Master of Education in Curriculum and recently, Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA. “Contemplative Practices and Learning: A Holistic Approach to Education in Bhutan” was his doctoral dissertation.
Dr. Yang is from Wamrong, Trashigang, now resettled in Lhamoyzingkha, Dagana.
