“After the training in April, I have been able to sell at least 20 bags, earning about Nu. 6,000. There are more in demand, and I am still weaving. This way, I see, waste is being recycled, and in the process, it has diversified my income-generating opportunities,” said Jigme Wangmo.
Jigme Wangmo is from Langchenphu Gewog and one of the beneficiaries of zero-waste craft training conducted by the Dzongkhag Administration, Samdrup Jongkhar Langchenphu Gewog Administration and SJI.
Like Jigme, there are many more lives we have touched through such training program, which we will unfold in the coming months.
